Chlamydia Test

This test detects Chlamydia trachomatis, one of the most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Many people with chlamydia may not experience symptoms, which is why regular screening is important, especially if you're sexually active. Untreated, chlamydia and other STIs can cause serious health complications. Testing is the only way to know for sure if you have an STI and to ensure timely treatment.

Signs & Symptoms
The Chlamydia Test can be used with or without symptoms. When present, symptoms can vary by person and infection.

In men:

• Frequent urination
• Burning during urination
• Discharge from the penis
• Pain or swelling in the testicles
• Redness or swelling at the penis opening (gonorrhea)

In women:

• Burning during urination
• Increased urination
• Abnormal vaginal discharge
• Pain during sex
• Lower abdominal pain
• Bleeding between periods
• Sore throat (gonorrhea)
• Cervical inflammation (chlamydia)

These symptoms can also be caused by other conditions. Please discuss your symptoms with your doctor.

Urine Sample Preparation
No special preparation is required for the urine test. However, it's recommended that you drink plenty of fluids before providing your sample. Fasting is not necessary.
