About the Test
The Ongoing Thyroid Disorder Monitoring Test Panel measures the levels of TSH and T4 in your blood to assess how well your current treatment plan is managing your thyroid condition. This test serves as a follow-up to our Thyroid Disorder Monitoring, Initial Test Panel.
Designed for patients with an established thyroid disorder, this test may be recommended by your physician after treatment has begun to ensure your thyroid function is properly managed.
PLEASE NOTE
Changes in metabolism, such as weight fluctuations, temperature sensitivity, or energy levels, may indicate an imbalance in your TSH levels. High or low TSH levels could signal an overactive (hyperthyroidism) or underactive (hypothyroidism) thyroid. By measuring TSH and T4 levels, this panel helps determine if your treatment dosage is effectively supporting thyroid health.
What’s Tested
The thyroid, controlled by the pituitary gland through TSH, regulates essential body functions like body temperature, heart rate, metabolism, and more. Our Thyroid Disorder Monitoring: Ongoing test panel measures TSH and T4 levels to assess thyroid function. Low TSH may indicate hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), while high TSH suggests hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). Both conditions may require treatment. Untreated thyroid disorders can lead to serious health issues like cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and infertility, but most can be managed with medication.
